Number Plates

There are several different number plates that you can purchase from the Shire of Victoria Plains.

Shire District Plates

District plates are available from the Shire Office for $11.30. Remakes are available on an existing district number plate at a cost of $13.00.

Shire Plates Series

Think global, act local, some 83 shires and councils right across WA now have their own plates.
If you would like to purchase plates for your personal vehicle, contact your local shire/council.
The Shire of Victoria Plains plates as seen below are available for $160.00.

Personalised Plates - The Blue Series

The original personalised plate comes in aluminium with reflective blue background and black characters. Choose any combination of one to three alphas with 3 numerals. Retail price $101.20.

Custom Series

The custom series comes in 13 different colour combinations. Choose from either standard aluminium or super snazzy polycarbonate. Aluminium is available in half, three quarter or full size plates. With polycarbonate plates, you can choose up to 9 digit alpha/numeric combination. Polycarbonate is available in full size plates only.

Note that plate combinations can be all alphas, however all numerals are not available.
Aluminium $335.00 and Polycarbonate $455.00.

Sporting Club/Fundraiser Series

(Show your club spirit)
Transport's Sporting Club and Fundraiser series gives clubs and associations the opportunity to raise funds through customized club plates. Transport can custom design using logos, slogans and club colours. Design your own plates and then sell or auction them to your keen supporters. Eagles/Dockers/Perth Glory Plates are available from DPI for $130.00.

Driver License Theory Testing

Theory testing for Motor Driver's License applications, are now conducted on behalf of the Department of Planning and Infrastructure by the Shire of Victoria Plains at the Shire's Administrative Centre 28 Cavell Street, Calingiri.

Theory Test times : Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays from 8.30am to 2.00pm)

Practical Driving Testing

From the 1st July 2008 Practical Driving tests will be conducted by appointment with a Department of Planning and Infrastucture Assessor.  Make your appointment with the Shire of Victoria Plains by phoning (08) 9628 7004.  Practical Driving tests will be held in Calingiri on a Thursday of the 1st week of each month.  Other testing sites are available if required.  Please contact the Shire of Victoria Plains on (08) 9628 7004 for further information on sites, dates and booking arrangements.

Drivers Class Testing

The Department of Planning and Infrastructure Assessor will test for all classes from R-N (Moped) to HC.  No MC testing will be conducted.  MC paperwork can be completed at the Shire of Victoria Plains, however MC assessments will need to take place with an Authorised Service Provider.  Contact the Shire of Victoria Plains on (08) 9628 7004 for a list of providers.
