CALINGIRI BINGO GROUP
As most people in town are aware, each Wednesday morning – eyes down at 10.30am – a
small group of us play bingo. We bring along a plate of food for a shared lunch, and have
lots of laughs, chats, and a lovely time. We are always looking for new faces to join us.
Maybe a few don’t realise but, we not only play for fun, but fifty cents from each game
played, is donated to our local St John Ambulance.
I asked our hard working Tracey Glass, secretary of the Calingiri St John Ambulance, if she
was able to give us an indication of how much this small group had donated. Ever obliging,
she went back to 2011 and we have donated $2000
. AWESOME !!
The bingo group has been going for many more years, so that figure would probably be at
least three times more !!
So folks, if you would like to join us, please feel free to come along to the Calingiri
Recreation Hall on a Wednesday morning – as I said, eyes down 10.30am.
Please remember, we don’t play for “sheep stations”, but we have a lot of fun and money
raised goes to a great cause.
Who knows – heaven forbid – but we don’t know if or when we may have to rely on our
great ambulance people.
