ANZAC DAY POPPY DISPLAY—25TH April 2016

Call out to any interested members of the Shire of Victoria Plains.

Below is a template of a poppy, we are looking for people to make as many

RED

poppies as you like ie: paper,

felt, plastic, card, fabric or anything

red.

We would like to make a mass display on black netting to be hung outside the Hall on ANZAC Day

If you could make your POPPY (with your name attached) and place it in an envelope to Calingiri Progress

Association, Post Office, CALINGIRI 6569 that would be excellent.

Alternatively, if you will be attending the Anzac Day service, you can bring it along on the day to be pinned on

the netting

With Thanks

ANZAC DAY 2016

The Shire of Victoria Plains and Calingiri Progress Association (Inc), invite residents to an Anzac Day

commemorative service at the Victoria Plains Shire War Memorial in Calingiri, at 11.00am on Monday 25

th

April

2016.

The 2015, 100

th

year anniversary commemoration service of the Gallipoli landings, was an exceptional event,

and it is proposed that the theme of continuing to commemorate the 100

th

anniversary of aspects of World War

One (WW1), be continued.

1916 marked the arrival of Anzac forces on the Western Front in France, and 2016 will be the 100

th

year

commemorative focus.

Residents who have had grandparents or great-grand parents directly serving in WW1, are particularly

welcomed to this year’s service.
