Defibrillator Installed in Yerecoin
Yerecoin Progress Association with the assistance of Volunteer Officer,
Jane Graham were successful in obtaining a CBH Group grant to
purchase a defibrillator for the Yerecoin townsite. CBH has been
generously sponsoring the placement of defibrillators throughout the
Goldfields, Great Southern, Midwest and Wheatbelt regions of WA.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the leading causes of death in
Australia. In most cases the key to survival is prompt defibrillation,
which is most effective when carried out within minutes of a Sudden
Cardiac Arrest. Volunteer Ambulance Officers are trained in the use
of the Defibrillators and eventually community members will also have
the opportunity to be apt in their use.
