POLICE ATTENDANCE

If you require non-urgent police attendance, please ring 131444, urgent matters ring 000. Police Station is generally manned Mon-Wed 0900-1500

hours. When not manned any phone calls to the station will be diverted to Northam Police Station. At request a message via email will be sent to us to

contact you at a later date.

HOUSE KEEPING

1. Senior Constable Riley Scott is now back to work on light duties, he is helping with heaps of paperwork that I had put off. Thank you Scotty.

2. S/C Tony Moss is back and fully operational and now eager to have his first ‘foot’ chase.

3. If you have been driving or walking past the police station and wondering what’s happening behind the police station, a new custody cell is being built.

It’s an approved standard ‘cell’ and associate rooms for custody matters including charge and interview room. I am wondering who’s going to be my first

‘guest’ after the completion.

GENERAL OFFENCES

1.

Wongan Hills Police are still conducting an investigation into burglary and associate offences occurred at businesses and residential premises.

A 12 year old boy has been charged and further charged with burglaries and stealing. Northam Children's Court has remanded him for further

legal advice. Department of Child Protection has removed him from Wongan Hills placement and placed him elsewhere. Police are looking for

his accomplice, a 17 year old youth believed to be somewhere in Perth, he is also wanted for questioning for several burglaries in Wongan Hills.

2.

A 33 year old female has been charged with breach of Police Order and Criminal Damage as a result she was refused bail and conveyed to

Northam Court with the present charges preferred.

3.

A 50 year old male has been charged with Breach of Police Order, his bail was refused and he was conveyed to Northam Court where the

present charge preferred.

SUSPICIOUS PERSONS AND VEHICLES

Recently there have been several suspicious people around country towns and farmlands. Please report them to police even if you think it’s a small

matter. Try to remember their personal description and registration number of their vehicles.

TRAFFIC HOONING & TRAFFIC OFFENCES

Of late, Wongan Hills Police have been busy with investigations of burglary and stealing offences and have not been on the road as much.

Nevertheless we still managed to get a few traffic charges as follows;

1.

A local 37 years old man has been charged with No Authority To Drive (Under court suspension) his vehicle was seized for 28 days.

2.

A 12 year old boy was charged with No Authority To Drive (Never Held)

3.

A 46 year old female was charged with driving an unlicensed vehicle and displaying false plates.

As a registered owner or person in charge of a motor vehicle, you must ensure the driver of your vehicle has a current motor driver’s

licence. If you fail to take a reasonable step you could be charged with permitted unlicensed person to drive a motor vehicle.
