NEWS FROM THE CHAMBERS

In order to provide your Shire with an efficient collection service, we request that you use the

following forms when communicating changes to the service collection.

By using these forms it ensures all the necessary information is provided to us initially and

therefore minimises delays in dealing with the request.

We have provided information below to assist in completing the forms.

New Service Request Forms

This form is to be used for properties that do not currently have a rubbish collection service.

Where a bin gets delivered as part of the service, Avon Waste will endeavour to deliver the bin on the next

collection day.

Additional Service Request Forms

This form is to be used for properties that already have a rubbish collection service and wish to increase

the number of services they have.

Where a bin gets delivered as part of the service, Avon Waste will endeavour to deliver the bin on the next

collection day.

Reduction in Service Request Forms

This form is to be used when a property has more then one service and they wish to reduce the number of

services. Please note a property in the compulsory service area can not reduce their services to none. It is

a requirement that the property has one rubbish service at all times (unless the house gets demolished or

is condemned).

Replacement Bin Request Forms

This form is to be used where Avon Waste owns the bin. It is the ratepayers responsibility to ensure the

bin does not get stolen or wilfully damaged. There is a replacement fee if this happens. If the bin is damaged

due to wear and tear, Avon Waste will replace the bin free of charge. The driver will advise if the damage

to the bin is wear and tear. The Shire can be charged for the replacement bin and then on charge the fee or

the resident can pay. If the resident is paying the replacement fee, the bin can not be delivered until

payment has been received.

Bin Repair Request Forms

This form is to be used where Avon Waste owns the bin. To ensure the driver has the correct parts, please

include a description of the damage to the bin. Please advise resident to place bin out as normal and

repairs will be made on the next collection day. Please note: If the bin lid has come off the bin please ask the

resident to place the lid next to the bin not on top.

Private Purchase Request Forms

This form is to be used when it is the responsibility of the resident is to supply the bin for the collection

service. The form can be used to purchase bins and or parts to repair bins. Bins can be purchased for private

use.

Property Details

It is important that the ratepayer has their property marked with a House number, Lot Number or RSN

to ensure the driver can locate the property. Many times it is dark when the driver goes past some

properties and without the house clearly marked it makes their job extremely difficult. Any additional

information about the properties is greatly appreciated.

Delivery of Bins

Avon Waste will endeavour to deliver bins on the next collection day, however the trucks only have the capacity

to hold a certain number of bins (this differs for each truck). Please advise residents that the bins will be

delivered as soon as possible.

If you are sending a request form that is for the next day, please endeavour to send the form before 3pm.
