Every local government in WA is required to have a set of plans in place in the event of an emergency as per the Emergency Management Act 2005.

These are generally known as Local Emergency Management Arrangements or LEMA.

The Shire’s LEMA has been developed in consultation with the wider community by Shire staff and the Local Emergency Management Committee. This document is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains up to date.
