Community Update on Fuel Supply Conditions

Published on Thursday, 2 April 2026 at 10:23:27 AM

The Shire of Victoria Plains is monitoring current conditions that may affect fuel supply and transport across regional Western Australia, with a focus on potential local impacts for residents, businesses and agricultural operations.
While fuel supply arrangements are being managed at a State and national level, the Shire is focused on understanding what this may mean locally and ensuring essential services can continue without disruption.
At this time, all Shire services are operating as normal. Staff are monitoring the situation and reviewing upcoming works and operations, particularly those scheduled after Easter, to ensure services can continue smoothly if conditions change. This includes identifying practical opportunities to conserve diesel across plant, equipment and outdoor works where appropriate.
The Shire is also aware of reports of fuel theft across the district and has experienced impacts to some plant and equipment. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and take sensible precautions around fuel storage and equipment security.
The Shire will continue to monitor developments and provide updates through its website and official channels if there are any changes that impact local services or the community.
