The Shire of Victoria Plains local government elections took place on Saturday evening, with two new Councillors elected to join the Council.
Three Councillor positions were contested, with Suzanne Woods being re-elected to Council, and new Councillors Neil Smith and Liz Williams successful in being elected to Council.
The new elected members will be sworn in prior to the Council Meeting on 29 October 2025 where the Shire President and Deputy Shire President positions will also be elected.
Shire CEO, Sean Fletcher, said he is looking forward to working with the new-look Council.
“I’m energised by the interest and desire shown by our community to be involved in democracy at the local government level.” he said.
“I look forward to working with our newly elected and re-elected councillors to advocate for our region, continue to listen to, engage with, and unite our community, and truly position the Shire as a space to grow”.
The Shire of Victoria Plains farewells and thanks outgoing elected members David Lovelock and Stephanie Penn for their many years of service.
